Schnitzel..Schnitzel..Schnitzel..

Today was another R&R day for all of us.  The rainy weather certainly didn't inspire us to get out and explore the city.  The Bridge Climb and a visit to the Sydney Zoo are a couple options that we've been keeping in our back pocket, for when the weather clears...but neither were options we could exercise today!  We weren't complaining!  We took the opportunity to get some laundry done, snap some photos of the city, investigate a restaurant tip, and rest up for going out tonight.

Given the amount of Indian, Thai, and Chinese food that Brad has had to "endure" (by Indian, Thai and Chinese food, we're referring to their various fried chicken dishes that Brad was able to hunt down on their respective menus) we decided it was time to go out for his favorite NEW food.  SCHNITZEL!  That's right, schnitzel which is essentially thinly pounded fried meat.  Basically...Brad's favorite food!  We heard through the grapevine that the best place in town for schnitzel is a place called Una's, a German restaurant within walking distance from our hotel.

Una's menu was VERY diverse.  For instance, the first four items on the list are:
Veal Schnitzel
Chicken Schnitzel
Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce
Chicken Schnitzel with Spicy Tomato Sauce
...and you can guess how the rest of the menu goes.   The food was, as expected, very good!

Dinner done, it was off to the Oxford bar for Friday night.  With all the people in town for Mardi Gras, we were expecting it to get busy very quickly and, before long, their was a line out the door.  Four Floors actually turned out to be two.  Well, two floors that we actually spent any amount of time on.  The basement, which was a dark, underground bar with a dance floor and lots of space to tour around.  The ground floor, which was packed shoulder-to-shoulder and lots of fun!  The second floor turned out to be a live-performance floor (read: drag queens).  Pass.  The very top floor was closed when we first arrived, and we never ventured past the drag queen floor to check it out again.  I have a feeling that all the fun fur was packed on to the first two lower floors.  It was a great night out!

Our DJ for the evening - Yes, it was 90 degrees down there!
