At 10:00pm PT on Wednesday evening it was time to leave the luxurious confines of the Global First Class lounge and walk right to the front of the line to board our flight to Sydney. We were very happy to be up in Global First class with our wonderful pods and only 12 seats total in first class. Yes, we DO need that much attention.
Our flight started with a hefty dinner and lots of cocktails (except for Eric and his "soda"). I think he was just leaving room for the 5 course dinner (including 2 desserts), all night snack buffet, and the 4 course breakfast. At least we didn't starve!
Here are some pictures of Brad and Eric looking over the menu for our flight and enjoying our cushy seats.
Fortunately, most of the food that was served was pretty good (qualification: for airline food)! Although, we're not sure why we needed so much of it, since we were just sitting for 15 hours. Of course, it's not like we turned any of it down...
After eating and drinking a lot, watching many on-demand movies and trying to sleep, we finally landed in Sydney at around 8:00am Friday, Feb 15th in Sydney. My how time flies!
We took a cab to our hotel Hotel Stellar and checked our luggage since our rooms weren't ready. That was ok since we had much to do - Walk around and try to adjust to the time, stop at Starbucks and also head to Telstra to buy pre-paid mobile SIM cards so we could rejoin the connected world! Whew!
Now that our rooms are available we are going to try and look a little more civilized again!
We'll leave you with some wonderful words of wisdom we ran across on our journey. Words we truly hope you take to heart and apply in your everyday lives.
